Born Free (1974) - Season 1 (3 Discs)

Born free, not cheap.
This cost a little to much, but I still wanted it. It is not season one, like Amazon would have you beleive. There is only one season and the whole show is in this, on 3 disk. There are no extra, not even a book or paper listing of episdoes. This is why I feel it cost a little to much. The quality of the DVDs are fine. The show is a well crafted show with good actors. The show was filmed in Africa, which is a plus. But I feel it lacks the charm of Dakatri, which of course has Judy the chimp and Clarence. But over all it has the same feel, positive stories about animals and those evil people who would hunt them. I like shows like Daktari , Wild Kingdom , Lassie , Flipper , The Black Stallion, other animal shows and this one fits in very well with those DVD sets, which I have also bought.

Bonr Free Show Infos & Episode Listing
Well, I have been waiting a mighty long time to see this show becoming available again, but now it seems that I cannot order this product since they do not ship it outside the US (I am not even sure these DVD would play back on European devices.)

Anyway this show having been the great joy of my adolescence, I can at least provide some useful information for those who liked it as much as I did.

Series Description:
The 1974 NBC Born Free TV show was inspired by the 1966 movie of the same name about George & Joy Adamson, depicting their life as married couple while serving as game wardens in Kenya, East Africa. They cared for the wild animals in their charge and fought against poachers and other bad guys. It was filmed entirely in Kenya.
Elsa the lioness lived in a wildlife sanctuary in East Africa. She was pet of George (Gary Collins) and Joy (Diana Muldaur) Adamson, game wardens who protected the animals on the reserve from poachers.

I am so thrilled with this DVD package! I only wish this ran longer than one short season. I recommend this DVD series to anyone who loves watching shows based out of Africa.
