Only 3 workout options
This DVD is a little different than alot of other Leslie Sansone DVDs in the fact that there are ONLY 3 workout options:
(1) 4 mile power walk
(2) 2 mile classic walk
(3) 2 mile power express
You do not have the option to 'mix and match' miles any way you want. There are fresh faces in these workouts (some of the same new faces as seen on the 'Ultimate 5 Day Walk Plan' DVD), some new moves, and new music. If you haven't seen Leslie's new group of walkers I will tell you that most look younger and all are pretty fit. She cuts up with the group as usual, but the cuing seems to be better than alot of her other workouts where she's in a group (I prefer Leslie alone for this reason). One of the miles is Leslie alone. Two of the miles have intervals that feature "power surges", which are a little different than her boosted walking intervals featured in previous DVDs. The miles seemed a little short to me; both 2 mile options with warm up and cool down...
Great new dvd with power!
This DVD offers 3 sections. 4 mile power walk, 2 mile classic walk and 2 mile power express.
The power walks include "power surges" which includes jumping up and down and jumping jacks. Power surges are different from boosted walking. I don't usually do "high impact" but Leslie's power surges only last 1 or 2 mins so it didnt kill me.
I LOVED this dvd b/c I like Leslie's workouts but I've been wanting more of a workout to get my heart rate up, and the power surges were the perfect thing!! I've lost 55 pounds so far, mainly doing Leslie Sansone workouts since last fall.
This dvd includes the new, younger girls from her other newer 2012 release, along with couple others.
I would not consider this a beginner workout because of the power surges. Glad I purchased this dvd!!
(I bought this dvd from Collage Video because it was released a month ago and I didn't want to wait!)
Leslie Freshens Up 4 Fast Miles With Intervals!
Leslie's newest DVD has 4 fast miles and includes interval training. The set is the newer studio that her other recent videos have been shot in -- it's nice and bright. The format is 4 total miles -- 2 are classic walks and 2 include interval training, or "power surges" as Leslie calls them. The 2 classic miles include some newer moves and are fast--the first mile comes in at just over 11 minutes including the warm up and the last mile is just over 12 minutes. The middle two miles are both just over 13 minutes and include the intervals -- each of these miles has three sets of intervals, alternating 2 minutes of slower walking and 2 minute power surges, which have higher impact moves like jogging, mini jump rope moves, twists, and mini jacks. Your heart rate stays up throughout so it feels like a good workout. On most of the miles, Leslie works with the younger group of women that have been in her recent videos. She does one of the interval miles solo. There are not too many...
